The “Almada Trumpet” trumpet, designed by Ermanno Aparo, professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC), which combines the art of filigree with metal mechanics, made history by winning the silver medal in the “A’ Design Competition”, being “the 1st time that Portugal wins an award in the musical instrument design category”.
The event is considered “one of the five biggest in the world in design” and awards three prizes in the musical instruments category”.
Furnor was proudly one of the 12 Portuguese companies that participated in the creation of the trumpet, which involved companies from the areas of filigree to metalworking, which combined rigorously artisanal production with high industrial technology.
